Bachelor Degree StudentMost college students know that there are degrees that pay well, and degrees that struggle to land a job that can simply cover their lingering student loans (liberal arts comes to mind.) The highest paid bachelor degrees are where all the “you could earn more money by going back to school” pitches come from, while the other degrees might as well be labeled Your Next Financial Slush Pit. Those less-than-lucrative majors have different rewards though, such as knowledge that has passed down throughout cultures for thousands of years; philosophy, literature, the fine arts. This article isn’t for the student that only seeks that enrichment; it’s for the student that would like enrichment and the ability to live in financial comfort.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, “job opportunities are expected to be good” for the pharmacy technician. For a college student following the health care industry like myself, or for anyone with their hands even mildly wet in politics, the knee-jerk response is–”Of course it is! It’s in the health care industry, the largest growing industry in the United States thanks to national health care reform!”–but don’t be so quick to act. The pharmacy technician is the not the person you think of, handling the health affairs of individuals across the United States.
